EUSALP General Assembly

The EUSALP General Assembly is the political steering body of the EU Strategy for the Alpine Region. It is composed of the political representatives of the seven participating Alpine states and 48 Alpine regions. The Alpine Convention participates as an observer. The European Commission has a coordinating and facilitating role. The General Assembly is chaired by the country holding the current presidency of the EUSALP.

The General Assembly regularly adopts declarations setting out the political guidelines for cooperation. In addition, the General Assembly offers a political forum for cross-border coordination and discussion of the important challenges in the Alpine region. The meetings of the General Assembly are not open to the public, but the declarations can be viewed here.
