Lightshow Max 500

The time travel of Emperor Maximilian I.
19.00 - 19.15

The audience is sent on a journey through time: Impressive effects - based on historical events - convey in a modern, playful and sometimes surprising way the life of the Habsburg Emperor Maximilian I. Emperor Maximilian I laid the foundation for the rise of Habsburg to European power at the beginning of modern times with his war and marriage policies. His aim was to establish a supranational European empire. Maximilian I resided mainly in Innsbruck, whose character he shaped during his reign. 2019 marks the 500th anniversary of his death.

For the light show, the three sides of the inner courtyard of the Hofburg are transformed into an oversized screen. Over 1,300 m2 of "screen space", seven high-performance beamers and a perfect sound system offer visitors a unique projection experience. The Viennese light art collective LICHTTAPETE plays with the facades of the building and creates fantastic visual worlds which - combined with acoustic effects - guarantee an impressive overall experience.
